At the Empowering Spirits Foundation, Inc. we integrate diversity into all our business strategies, decisions and policies. We demonstrate our commitment to diversity by being open and inclusive as we leverage the strength found in the rich differences of our volunteers, employees, and ESF's partners. At ESF we believe that by embracing individual uniqueness, we can bring creativity and vitality to our environment. ESF welcomes people who want to change the world, people who want to learn more about the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LTBT) community, LGBT individuals who want to network, or people who just want to check us out.
ESF believes it's possible for people of all viewpoints and persuasions to come together and learn from each other. And at ESF we believe in the broad spectrum of human experience. ESF believes that amazing things come when people from different worlds and world-views approach each other to create a conversation.
ESF believes in being inclusive, welcoming, and supportive of anyone who comes to us with good faith and the desire to build a community.
How We define diversity
Diversity includes all the characteristics, experiences and cultural influences that make each of us unique individuals. The differences and similarities that make us diverse can be internal (an aspect one is born with), external (an aspect that can change), or situational (an aspect that can change based on one’s vocation). These aspects include, but are not limited to:
| Age | Appearance | Communications Style |
| Economic Status | Educational Background | Employer |
| Gender Identification | Geographic Location | Job Type/Title |
| Language | Learning Style | Management Status |
| Marital Status | Mental Abilities | Nationality |
| Parental Status | Physical Abilities | Political Affiliation |
| Race/Ethnicity | Religion | Seniority/Tenure |
| Sex/Gender | Sexual Orientation | Veteran Status |
| Work Experience | Work Location |
