The easiest way to make a legacy gift.

The easiest way to make a legacy gift is through beneficiary designations. You can designate ESF as a full or partial beneficiary. Beneficiary gifts bypass probate and go directly to all beneficiaries. Just fill out a beneficiary designation form and set forth the following as the official recipient of the gift:

Empowering Spirits Foundation, Inc., located at 3535 Lebon Drive, Suite 5211, San Diego, California 92122, or its successors-in-interest.

Insurance policies

There are a number of ways you can name ESF as a beneficiary of an insurance policy, whether through your employer or a separate policy in your name. Such a gift may provide you with current and future tax benefits.

Retirement plans (i.e., traditional IRA, 401(k), 403(b), Keogh)

Include ESF as a beneficiary in your retirement plans. You'll avoid substantial income taxes that would be due if a retirement plan were left to non-spousal heirs. As always contact your attorney or financial planner, but we strongly advise that you name ESF as a beneficiary of a retirement plan through your beneficiary designation form, and not through your last will and testament as this may jeopardize your tax benefits.

Savings accounts

Designate ESF as a beneficiary of your savings account. It's simple and allows you to have full use of your savings during your lifetime.

Varying tax benefits

Some of the charitable options referenced may have a greater tax benefit to you than others, so please consult with your attorney or financial advisor on which strategy would work best for you.

Questions?

We would be pleased to provide you with additional information to share with your attorney/financial advisor about the various options, as well as suggested wording. If you have questions please contact us.
